Fashion Media Program Overview

The online BS in Fashion Media program teaches students how to engage audiences and educates aspiring fashion media professionals on the fundamentals of media and media theory.

Graduates acquire skills in media production, digital photography, and filmmaking, as well as written and visual journalism. 

This program’s flexible, fully online format allows students to earn their degree from wherever they are located, on the schedule that works best for them.

LIM’s fully online programs feature 7-week accelerated courses.

Fashion Media majors examine contemporary issues in mass media and cultural choices that affect media around the world. Students also gain experience using media tools and technology while creating a portfolio of writing, photography, or film projects.

Real-world experience is essential to preparing for your future career, especially in the fashion industry. Fashion Media majors are required to complete 13 experiential education credits, including 3 internships. These internships can be done anywhere in the world, including remotely or in a hybrid format.

In addition to traditional internships, students in the online Fashion Media program may be eligible to earn required experiential education credits through project-based learning with their current employer or receive credit for prior work experience.

The Lexington Line is LIM’s student magazine, created and produced entirely by students.  Fashion Media majors comprise a high percentage of the magazine’s staff, taking on roles in editing, designing, writing, and marketing. Plus, all Fashion Media majors pitch articles for The Lexington Line and publish their work on its website.

Being part of The Lexington Line gives online students a unique opportunity to explore multiple facets of fashion media, publish their work, and apply knowledge gained in their courses in a real-world situation.
