About

As Associate Chair of the Arts and Sciences department, Anahu Guzman oversees LIM’s mathematics curriculum and students’ mathematics placement. He has been the Director of LIM College’s Math Center since 2005, offering academic assistance in all areas of math-related study in order to support and enrich classroom instruction. Under his leadership, the Math Center was granted the College Reading & Learning Association’s International Tutor Training Program Certification.

He is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the American Mathematical Society, and American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. He has received the American Statistical Association Award from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY) and the Aung San Suu Kyi Award from York College, CUNY, where he was a Minority Access to Research Careers scholar.

Dr. Guzman's research expertise and interests include topics in diversity, social justice education, and racial and gender equity in mathematics education.
