Marla Greene has worked in the industry as a Merchandise Manager for Liz Claiborne Outlet Stores and as a Buyer for Bare Necessities, Belk Store Services, and Kids R Us.

She founded and is the faculty advisor for LIM College's chapter of the National Retail Federation (NRF) Student Association. She also mentors students competing for Fashion Scholarship Fund and NRF Foundation scholarships. Additionally, Professor Greene played an instrumental role in creating LIM's Retail Buying & Planning minor for Fashion Merchandising majors.

Professor Greene is the author of A Buyer’s Guide to Retail Mathematics, published in 2023, and was the revising author for Mathematics for Retail Buying, 8th and 9th editions. She received LIM College’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2010 and was a President’s Award recipient in 2009. She is a member of the National Retail Federation and the Retail Marketing Society.
