About
O’Rita Johnson joined LIM College in 2005 as an adjunct faculty member and Math Center tutor. In 2008 she was named Assistant Director of the Math Center. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematics Association of America.
Dr. Johnson’s research interests include equity in minority students’ education, the impact of parent involvement in female students’ decision to major in STEM, and students’ attitude towards mathematics.
Her scholarly work includes presentations at the Northeast Association for Science Teacher Education Regional Conference and Promoting a Scholarly Community of Researchers Symposium, both at Teachers College, Columbia University.
