Realizing My Dream of Entrepreneurship

I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur and capitalize on my own ideas. I felt LIM would give me the structure, resources, and the network I needed to do it well.

It was important for me to choose classes that would help me achieve my goals. Classes like International Business, Branding, and Communications were all integral for me to learn as much as I could about media, fashion, and business.

I started TheZenStudioNYC during the COVID-19 pandemic. This came after disappointing discoveries about the unethical practices of one of my favorite brands. In true entrepreneurial spirit, I felt like I needed to be the change that I wanted to see. A project that was fly and sustainable is what fashion needed and still needs. I knew I was well equipped to build my own brand, I was lucky to have the financial recourses to start, and so I did.

My lifestyle brand features bags, hoodies, t-shirts and more sustainable products. I’m currently focused on sustainable streetwear because of my love of hip-hop. It’s all about bringing ownership back to the culture. Staying true to myself and pushing myself creatively is important for me. I’ve learned how to apply my passion, talent, and most importantly, my work ethic together and really go after my dreams.

My education helped me build my first four figures within the first six months of operating. LIM College has been inspiring and helped shape who I am as an entrepreneur, I’m excited for my future and the future of my brand.

If there's one piece of advice I can give to other entrepreneurs, it's this: When one door isn’t opening, build another one.
