There are 22 clubs currently on campus and the number keeps growing. If you have an idea for a club, the team in Student Life is always open to new ideas. I personally love being part of the clubs on campus and highly encourage others to join. They are great ways to make friends and are great to put on a resume. Below are all the clubs on campus, and they are all great to join.
Clubs I am Currently Involved In
I am one of the co-leaders of the Philanthropy Club. The Philanthropy Club is about small acts of kindness and helping the community. We often plan drives, volunteer, and raise funds for causes. Currently, my co-leader and I run the club similar to a small company. We have communications and creative design departments. My Co-leader, Vincent Duque, handles our finances, and I handle the operations of the club. We are always looking for new ideas and plan to hold interest meetings in the fall.
The first club I ever joined at LIM was the Global Students Club. This is a great club, and I am very close friends with all the members. The club is designed to bridge the gap between domestic and international students. We constantly plan fun events that have an international twist to them. Our events have included a cultural day event, an event where you could learn new languages, and we took part at the end of the year bash.
I am also trying to start a Mental Health Awareness Club on campus. Building awareness about mental illnesses and promoting the overall importance of mental health has been a passion of mine for a long time. I also believe that this will be very important due to the impact of the coronavirus. I would like to be able to start the club this coming fall. If you are interested, please contact me at Erika.massey@limcollege.edu. I hope you are all staying well.
The last club I am involved with is the Resident Hall Council, which I was President of. Currently, I may not be in the club due to the fact I am possibly moving to an apartment. This club is great if you think you want to be an RA and it also allows you to build good relationships with the people in the club. The events are also super fun, for example, we had a photoshoot party, movie nights, and a D&D night.
Clubs I Find Interesting
Fashion Show Production Club and Styling Club
These two clubs work together every year to plan the LIM Fashion show. These are great clubs if you are interested in event production or interested in being a stylist. They give hands-on experience to students and provide a great experience. Also, all the models for the show are LIM students and Faculty.
The Lexington Line
This club produces LIM College’s student magazine. The magazine has segments in fashion, beauty, culture, and lifestyle. It is a hand on experience in producing a magazine and digital content on their website because all of it is student-run. The Lexington Line also gives students an opportunity to publish their original writing and photography.
