Michael Zaytsev, LIM College’s Academic Director, Business of Cannabis, has been named to amNY and PoliticsNY’s 2023 Cannabis Industry Power Players list.
According to the PoliticsNY website, “The 2023 amNY and PoliticsNY Cannabis Industry Power Players are leaders in government and business who are at the forefront of moving the cannabis industry forward. This list of leaders includes those who have championed social equity in the industry and have worked to ensure that small and minority-owned businesses have equal access to licenses and funding. The list also highlights individuals and companies driving innovation, promoting and prioritizing safety, and creating new opportunities in the industry.”
Among the other cannabis industry movers and shakers who made the list are LIM adjunct faculty members Kristin Jordan and Beryl Solomon Jackowitz, and Dasheeda Dawson, who is the founding director of Cannabis NYC and developed a cannabis retailing course for LIM.
In 2022, LIM College introduced groundbreaking bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in The Business of Cannabis. With courses developed and taught by industry professionals, the programs focus on specialized cannabis industry knowledge, as well as business skills such as marketing, retail management, branding, merchandising and supply chain management. The master’s degree program is fully online and can be completed in one calendar year. The bachelor’s degree program is available on LIM’s midtown Manhattan campus or online.
Zaytsev is the author of the bestseller The Cannabis Business Book, and the founder of High NY, a leading cannabis community platform. He says, “LIM College works with the cannabis industry, government agencies, regulators, labor unions, nonprofits, and other educational institutions to develop robust, evidence-based, unbiased educational programs, so that we can prepare a vibrant and diverse workforce to support the industry’s growth.
