Millard "Mickey" Drexler, the legendary executive leader, will speak with students on LIM College’s campus as part of the LIM Fashion Education Foundation’s (FEF) “People in the Know” series at on Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The event, which is open in-person only to LIM students and invited industry guests, will also be conducted as a Zoom webinar, allowing a wider audience to hear about Drexler’s career path and insights on the future of the retail industry.

The iconic Drexler has been described as “the man who dressed America.” He is currently the Chairman of Alex Mill, the New York-based women’s and men’s fashion brand. Previously, Drexler served as Chairman and CEO of J. Crew Group, which he helped grow into a leading specialty fashion brand, and he founded Madewell. Prior to that, Drexler spent 18 years at Gap, Corp. While there, the company grew from $400 million to $14 billion in sales. During his tenure, Drexler founded Old Navy and launched Gap Kids.

The LIM FEF’s “People in the Know” series brings live and virtual conversations with some of the biggest names in the business of fashion and lifestyle to LIM College students and industry professionals.

The LIM FEF is a not-for-profit organization that is separate and distinct from LIM College. Its mission is to help students in need who have chosen to attend LIM College by raising and administering funds for scholarships and educational enhancements that benefit them. LIM FEF has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to deserving individuals, many of whom are first-generation college students, enabling them to pursue careers in the business of fashion.
