LIM College is partnering with leading global fashion e-learning platform MOTIF to launch a series of short, individual online fashion business courses.
The collaboration will deliver LIM educational material to a global professional audience, including apparel and retail corporate training programs.
The first course, on the fashion supply chain, will be released at the end of August 2020, followed by courses on sustainability and advanced spreadsheet analytics. All three are designed for fashion professionals seeking to upgrade or expand their skill sets.
Courses are 4-6 weeks in length (for 1.5-2 hours per day) and cost between $290 - $525 USD each. All instruction will be delivered asynchronously—meaning participants can start a course any time they like and complete it on their own time.
MOTIF—an e-learning platform that offers advisory, course creation services as well as a community-based marketplace for professional training material—is supporting the development of LIM courses on the Motif.org platform. LIM College will be the first higher education publisher on MOTIF.
“We started MOTIF with the aim of connecting apparel professionals around the world with the skills and industry expertise they need to transform their business, lives and careers,” explains Catherine Cole, CEO of MOTIF. “Today, we are taking it a step further through our upcoming e-learning courses with LIM College. Their addition to Motif.org is our first foray beyond apparel courses. The new course catalog extends our online training offerings for fashion, apparel and footwear professionals,” she says.
Says LIM President Elizabeth S. Marcuse, “LIM College has been at the forefront of educating fashion’s future business leaders since 1939, fostering a unique connection between academic study and its application in the workplace. We chose to partner with MOTIF because their commitment to advancing the innovation, technical intelligence, and practical skills needed to succeed in the fashion world uniquely aligns with the education LIM provides.”
