LIM senior Madeline Medby has reached the final round in this year's National Retail Federation (NRF) Foundation Next Generation Scholarship competition, in which students from more than 35 NRF Foundation member schools competed.

To advance to the last round, Madeline completed a case study and conducted interviews with NRF staff members. Next month, she and her four fellow finalists will participate in one more round of interviews, to be held at Macy’s Corporate Offices in Herald Square. Madeline has clinched at least a $10,000 scholarship, and she is in the running for the $25,000 grand prize.

The five national finalists in the 2019-2020 competition also include students from the University of Arizona, the University of Florida, Indiana University, and Texas A&M. All receive travel stipends to attend the NRF Foundation Student Program in January 2020. This program—where students participate in mentoring sessions and network with retail executives—takes place at the NRF Big Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, where the Next Generation Scholarship winner will also be announced.
