Intro Title
On February 25, LIM College will co-host donateNYC’s Pop-Up Market and Swap, a pop-up reuse market and clothing swap.

A New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) initiative, donateNYC helps New Yorkers “give goods, find goods, and do good,” with tools that make it easy to donate or find used goods. It’s an essential part of NYC’s 0X30 initiative, helping New Yorkers reach the goal of sending zero waste to landfills by 2030. The donateNYC initiative also provides vital support for New York City’s reuse community, helping nonprofit organizations and local reuse businesses increase and promote their reuse efforts.

The Pop-Up Market and Swap is part of ReFashion Week NYC, a multiday campaign to show that thrift stores can produce runway-caliber looks, and that conscious style can inspire new trends. ReFashion Week will run from February 23-March 1 and will include fashion shows, shopping events, clothing swaps, and styling competitions featuring donateNYC partners such as Housing Works, Goodwill, and FABSCRAP.

LIM College also recently joined DSNY’s ReFashion NYC program, which provides clothing collection bins to apartments, schools, and office buildings. Donated items are then distributed to local nonprofits.
