LIM College is cited as one of The Best Fashion Schools in the World 2019 in the BoF’s (The Business of Fashion) global assessment of fashion education. BoF is a leading digital authority on the global fashion industry.
While LIM had been recognized for excellence in graduate fashion business education previously, 2019 was the first year that the College’s undergraduate degree programs were eligible for consideration. This year, BoF removed numerical rankings and awarded “Badges of Excellence,” which recognize an institution’s strengths in key areas.
LIM College received the following Badges of Excellence:
- Undergraduate Fashion Business & Management (Fashion Merchandising, Management, Marketing, International Business) -- Overall, Learning Experience, Long-term Value
- Undergraduate Fashion Art Direction & Communications (Fashion Media and Visual Studies) -- Overall, Long-term Value
- Graduate Fashion Business & Management (master’s degree programs) -- Long-term Value
LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse said, “We are very proud to be included in The Best Fashion Schools in the World 2019. This recognition is a testament to the quality and commitment of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni—and affirms the enduring value of LIM College’s unique and immersive approach to education.”
The Best Fashion Schools in the World assessed 66 institutions using data supplied by each school, as well as survey responses from current students and alumni. Input was also solicited from more than 100 HR and industry professionals, as well as peer fashion educators.
According to its website, “BoF's global assessment of fashion schools is fueled by a rigorous methodology and input from leading experts… It aims to empower prospective students to make the most informed decision about their education.”
