LIM & the Fashion Industry
LIM is highly regarded for the quality of its business education and has deep connections throughout the fashion industry. As a result, students have opportunities to work on industry projects and regularly excel in major scholarship competitions sponsored by organizations such as the National Retail Federation Foundation and the Fashion Scholarship Fund.
Experiential learning is key to success in fashion, and at LIM, we make it a priority. Our students have one-of-a-kind experiences in New York City like taking backstage tours at Nordstrom and volunteering at New York Fashion Week.
Networking is also an essential component of the fashion business, and at LIM making professional connections begins in the classroom. Faculty members have high-level experience in everything from product development and merchandise planning to buying and sustainable sourcing for companies such as American Eagle Outfitters, Target, Cotton Incorporated, and more.
We also regularly bring in industry leaders and alumni to share their expertise and career advice. For example, LIM hosts the “NXT in Retail” panel discussion series, where fashion business professionals discuss emerging industry issues.
