On February 7, LIM College served as the site for the first Cannabis Real Estate Summit. Organized by Kristin Jordan, the Cannabis Real Estate Summit is a monthly event for cannabis professionals and executive decision-makers, including attorneys, consultants, and property managers.
Jordan is an adjunct faculty member in LIM College’s Business of Cannabis program and is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Park Jordan, a commercial real estate brokerage and advisory services firm for the cannabis industry.
“The goal was to bring the smartest minds into a room to understand the rollout of the adult cannabis industry,” said Jordan.
The panelists discussed the latest developments in the laws and legislation surrounding cannabis, as well as how to navigate the application process and regulatory requirements.
“This is a really complicated industry, and we want to make sure that everyone has the best information,” Jordan noted.
Participants included:
- Kaelan Castetter, Managing Director of Castetter Cannabis Group and Founder of Sovereign Vines
- Neil Willner, Co-Chair of the Cannabis Industry Group and member of the Litigation Group at Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld, LLC
- John Kagia, Director of Policy for the New York State Office of Cannabis Management
- FL Gorman, Esq.: Partner & Co-Leader of Cannabis and Real Estate Developers Industry Teams at Harris Beach, PLLC
- Barrington Rutherford, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Park Jordan, LLC
- Jeanne Sullivan: CIO of Arcview Ventures and Co-Founder of the Arcview Collective Fund
Jordan chose LIM as the site for the Summit so that participants would be in an environment focused on learning.
“Because I am an adjunct professor [at LIM], I am constantly on top of the latest information, and it is important for our curriculum to be updated, so I wanted to use that platform to make sure we are educating the entire industry,” she stated.
