According to LIM College’s Life After LIM, Class of 2022  report, an impressive 96% of LIM’s 2022 graduates were either working in the business of fashion and lifestyle or continuing their education within six months of graduation.

Compiled annually by LIM College’s Office of Career and Internship Services, the report provides a comprehensive look at the Career Outcomes Rate for all graduates who earned associate, bachelor's, or master's degrees from LIM College in January, May, or August of 2022.*

The 2022 Career Outcomes Rate is 14% higher than the national average for all reporting institutions in the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2021 First-Destination Survey, which captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation. The annual initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with a college education on a national scale and offers the most comprehensive view of graduate outcomes currently available.

Said Nina Fiddian-Green, Assistant Vice President of Career and Internship Services, “LIM College’s newest alumni are making their mark in everything from e-commerce and digital marketing, to buying, merchandising, retail management, product, development, event planning, public relations, human resources and more. They are taking on a multitude of roles, including as assistant buyers, assistant merchandisers, business analysts, content marketing coordinators, digital marketing specialists, e-commerce coordinators, PR assistants, production assistants, stylists, social media coordinators, and marketing and sales assistants, in fields that range from apparel and accessories to entertainment, media, beauty and wellness, and cannabis.”

Throughout the past nine decades, LIM has launched over 10,000 alumni into careers in the business of fashion and lifestyle and beyond. Graduates are prepared for success through an immersive approach grounded in a philosophy of learning by doing. In both on-campus and online programs, students gain real-world experience and build professional skills via courses taught by industry-expert faculty, required internships with top companies, collaborative industry projects, and ongoing networking and recruiting events.   

 

In a 2022 survey, 98% of internship employers described LIM students as “career-ready."

*LIM College’s Career Outcomes Rate is 96% for graduates who earned an associate, bachelor's or master's degree in January 2022, May 2022 or August 2022. In accordance with guidelines set forth by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the Career Outcomes Rate is calculated using statistical career data collected to determine the number of surveyed graduates who are employed, seeking employment, have other plans, or continuing their education within six months of graduation. Career outcomes data was recorded for 474 out of 516 graduates. Of the graduates with known post-graduation plans and who are eligible to work in the United States, 96% of the Class of 2022 were working in the business of fashion and lifestyle or continuing their education within six months of graduation, (94% employed, 2% continuing education, 3% seeking employment and 1% with other plans), representing a 92% knowledge rate. Of the associate degree recipients, 100% were working in the business of fashion and lifestyle within six months of graduation (100% employed. Of the bachelor's, 94% were working in the business of fashion and lifestyle or continuing their education within six months of graduation, (92% employed, 4% continuing education, 4% seeking employment, 1% other). Of the master's, 96% of graduates who were eligible to work in the U.S. and sought employment after graduation were working in the business of fashion and lifestyle or continuing their education within six months of graduation, (96% employed, 4% other).
