This marks the first time that LIM College has had two students in the finals of this prestigious nationwide competition. It also means both Clay and Megan remain in the mix to take first place in the contest and win a $25,000 grand prize.
This year's competition focused on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Students were first challenged to identify a retailer with potential to become more socially responsible, and to then propose a new CSR initiative, which could take the form of any new product, service, or partnership—or even a whole new business strategy—for that brand. Next, the semifinalists were tasked with developing a sustainability initiative for Nordstrom, and they also conducted interviews with executives.
By making this ultimate stage in the contest, Clay and Megan are already guaranteed a $10,000 scholarship. The final round consists of interviews with senior retail executives and NRF representatives.
The grand prize winner will be announced at the NRF Foundation Honors Gala on January 15, 2023.
