Anjing chose LIM for its comprehensive Fashion Marketing master’s program. Having been in New York for the past three months, she has discovered the plentiful opportunities the city offers for fashion students, from extensive libraries and great museums to glamorous runways and networking events.

How did you learn about LIM College, and what made you want to apply?
Looking for the college I wanted to apply to for my graduate degree, I noticed websites that ranked LIM College as one of the best fashion-related schools in the U.S. This led me to further research and contact LIM. Throughout my application process, the Admissions team was always helpful in answering my questions and filling me in on the advantages that an LIM student can get. The location was also a huge factor. Being a student in NYC gives you access to a lot of great public resources.

What are you learning in your master's degree program?
Fashion Marketing is a very popular program here at LIM, and I can totally see why! I am learning about the metrics companies use when evaluating the results of marketing strategies, the psychology behind campaigns and promotions, and ways to evaluate a company from aspects such as its market positioning, target audience, and publicity. For each of my classes, I select a company as my focus for the semester and complete reports and analyses each week based on what I’ve learned. It’s an engaging way to familiarize yourself with what you have learned in class and apply it to the real world.

Any favorite classes or professors?
Professor Polizzi and her Digital Marketing in the Fashion Industry course is my absolute favorite. The content is always intriguing and she incorporates her experiences to help us develop a clear understanding of the concepts.

What is it like being an international student at LIM?
Every day I receive care and respect from staff and my classmates. In class, for example, we’re encouraged to share situations from our own countries and discuss how things differ in the U.S., where we’re receiving our education. People speak about the unique cultures they grew up in.

What are the benefits of studying the fashion business in New York?
It’s definitely an unparalleled experience. When you become a student here, you can feel the vibrant culture and atmosphere in everyday life. Besides access to many libraries and museums, students here have chances to attend iconic fashion events, access to top industry professionals, and diverse networking opportunities.
