You will need an F-1 student visa to study in the United States. This visa will allow you to study for the duration of your program and does require full-time study.

Before applying for your visa, you should either contact the U.S. Consulate/ Embassy or visit www.usembassy.gov to determine the requirements for applying for the F-1 student visa in your home country.

APPLICATION

In order to obtain an F-1 student visa you will need an I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Students) from LIM College. To obtain an I-20 from LIM, you must submit an I-20 application, along with all required documents. All documents must be reviewed and accepted, in order to LIM to issue you an I-20. Copies of all documents are acceptable for the issuance of the I-20.

Click here to access the I-20 application.

SEVIS FEE PAYMENT

The I-901 fee, often called the “SEVIS fee” is mandated by Congress to support the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP and the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System (SEVIS). These are the U.S. governing bodies and systems that keep track of students and exchange visitors and record student status while in the United States.

Each student or exchange visitor issued an initial Form I-20 or DS-2019 on or after September 1, 2004, is responsible for paying the $350 fee to SEVP. The fee can either be paid by mail with a check, via the internet using a credit card, or through Western Union.

Confirmation of the SEVIS Fee payment is required for the visa interview at a local U.S. Consulate/Embassy. This confirmation must be filed with your visa application.

Click here to visit the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website to learn more about I-901 SEVIS Fee.
