August Events

8:30 - 9:30 a.m. 

This is an opportunity for new international students to meet each other and connect with others in the LIM community. LIM staff and International Student Orientation Leaders will facilitate a series of what-if scenarios and group discussions, and brainstorm activities to bring international and domestic students together throughout the academic year.

9:00 - 10:00 a.m. 

An opportunity for new graduate students to meet each other and become familiar with their faculty members and their Academic Advisor. We'll also explore all the resources available to master's students at LIM.

7:00 - 8:00 p.m. 

Get a glimpse into your first semester at LIM! Discover the classes you'll take, experiences that await you, and some important dates to look forward to. This session will be led by Nancy Miller, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and will include a Q&A.

Register - Afternoon Session

All new graduate students are encouraged to attend this robust and informative morning event (9:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. ET), where you’ll meet other incoming students and connect with LIM faculty and staff. You’ll learn how to utilize our college resources to be academically and socially successful, while completing your graduate program. Lunch will be provided. 

(Please note that if you're coming in as an international graduate student, you should register for both Graduate Student Orientation and International Student Orientation on this day!) 

And, the evening of Thursday, August 29, you're also invited to join our Orientation Boat Cruise, Dinner and Dance Party. (Shuttles to the boat cruise will be provided from LIM's Fifth Avenue building and FOUND Study - Midtown East.)

This is where incoming students will learn all about the international experience at LIM College and in New York City. You'll meet other incoming international and exchange students and receive tips on how to make the most of your time at LIM as rewarding and unforgettable as possible. All new international students are required to attend.

We'll also have an optional outing in the city directly after orientation activities conclude. Plus, we hope you'll join our Orientation Boat Cruise, Dinner and Dance Party for all new students the evening of Thursday, August 29! (Shuttles will be provided from LIM's Fifth Avenue building and FOUND Study - Midtown East.)

New Student Orientation is a half-day on Thursday, August 29 and a full day on Friday, August 30. All new in-person undergraduates are required to attend. Day one, on August 29, begins at 1:30pm at the New York City Bar Association, a short walk from LIM. (This is the same location as the Parent and Family Orientation that is also taking place the morning of August 29.) Here is where you'll learn about the support and resources our school offers in order to ensure students have a successful transition. You’ll hear tips for academic success, learn about student clubs and organizations, as well as gaining important insights into our community and the closeness that we foster in the middle of The Big Apple.

Following Orientation activities at the New York City Bar Association, we hope you'll join our Orientation Boat Cruise, Dinner and Dance Party taking place this evening! (Shuttles to the cruise will be provided from our Fifth Avenue campus location and FOUND Study - Midtown East.)

Boarding at 6:00 p.m. – Chelsea Piers, Pier 61

Cruise departs at 7:00 p.m. and returns at 10:00 p.m.

What an amazing way to get introduced to this spectacular city by seeing it from the water with hundreds of your new LIM College friends and peers. This is a FREE event that all new students (undergraduate, transfer, online, and graduate) are invited to attend. Registration in advance is required.

Shuttles will be provided from LIM College 5th Avenue Location and FOUND Study Midtown East.

Boat Cruise Registration

Day two of Undergraduate NSO begins at 1:00 p.m. on August 30, with lunch at Maxwell Hall. From there, the afternoon's activities are designed for you to engage with your orientation leader and group, help acclimate you to campus, and further explore the multitude of resources you may utilize during your time as a student.
