Consumer Analytics Program Overview

Fashion and lifestyle companies depend heavily on data to understand what consumers want to buy. LIM’s MS in Consumer Analytics degree program will teach you how to harness data analysis methodologies and leverage consumer insights to make informed business decisions and shape impactful marketing strategies. The program consists of 30 course credits and can be completed in one year.

Curriculum & Careers

The Consumer Analytics curriculum consists of a mix of analytics, marketing, and customer experience courses. You’ll learn about consumer behavior, data collection, predictive modeling, market research, and more. Sample courses within the program include:

  • Data Analysis
  • Advanced Marketing Metrics
  • Data Visualization and Communication Graphics
  • Research Design and Applications for Data
  • Strategic Marketing Management

Students in LIM’s Consumer Analytics degree program can also opt to complete our Career Success Track, which consists of a career internship or seminar course in each of your three semesters.

Review Program Requirements

This is a STEM-designated program. Graduate students on an F-1 visa who receive a STEM degree can apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion OPT (Optional Practical Training) if they have a job/job offer from an E-Verify employer and meet the required criteria.*

Students in this program may apply to do CPT (Curricular Practical Training) starting in their first semester.**

*Final determination to approve or deny post-completion OPT and the 24-month extension is made by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

**Students must enroll in the Career Success Track to apply for first-semester CPT (additional tuition charge applies).

Students in the master's program in Consumer Analytics are required to complete a 3-credit internship or take an advanced management course in their final semester. 

You can also opt to complete the Career Success Track, which consists of three internship courses across consecutive semesters that provide you with real-world experience to help attain your career goals.

Students graduate from this program prepared for numerous career paths and roles in consumer analytics, in areas such as data science, fashion and retail marketing, corporate strategy, and consumer insights analysis. Graduates can work for market research firms, advertising agencies, consumer goods companies, and more.
